Executive Team
The exec team consists of the directors of all the committees of TechX. We care deeply about all the events and initiatives that we have to offer, and we strive to make our mission of empowering students through technology possible on campus.
HackMIT
HackMIT organizes MIT's largest annual undergraduate hackathon. Over the span of a weekend, a thousand hackers from all over the world come together to experiment and innovate on software and hardware projects on MIT's campus. Our team works to organize this event as well as Blueprint, a smaller-scale high school hackathon.
xFair
xFair is a career fair and technology expo. It is split into two committees. The Logistics committee handles all the behind-the-scenes planning during the months leading up to xFair as well as the day of xFair. The Corporate Relations team seeks out and communicates with companies to bring their hottest new tech to xFair.
MakeMIT
MakeMIT organizes one of the world's largest hardware hackathons, bringing together hundreds of makers, designers, artists, and engineers to bring their crazy ideas to life. We need enthusiastic organizers who are passionate about fostering a creative and collaborative environment for our participating hackers!
ProjX
The ProjX team grants funding to MIT students who want to build cool stuff. We also host showcase events, maintain an online gallery, and run occasional workshops. Our mission is to encourage and enable MIT students to pursue side projects--see
here for more details. If you enjoy meeting people with awesome ideas and supporting the maker culture here at MIT, then ProjX is the committee for you!
SpecialX
The SpecialX committee works together to run awesome events like MIT VR Demo Day, JankHack, and more!
THINK
THINK aims to make STEM research and development accessible to high school students across the nation. We organize a competition in which high schoolers submit project proposals from which we select 4-6 finalists who are awarded seed funding for their projects. New for 2016 is THINK: Out of the Box, which specifically targets local, underprivileged students in the Boston area.
Developer Operations
With projects ranging from behind-the-scenes, mission-critical web software to public-facing marketing campaigns, DevOps allows you to contribute to TechX while developing your programming chops. Students with coding experience are encouraged to apply for a dev position!
Marketing
The Marketing team is the creative direction behind TechX - we design and deploy all forms of branding and advertising. We're looking for designers (no experience required), video-makers, social media junkies, and people interested in publicity positions!
Finance
The finance committee works together to help make the amazing events TechX puts together possible, by ensuring each committee has adequate funding, and by managing RFPs.
